Challenge: UCSF Radiology came to use having exhausted the off the shelf options for calendaring and scheduling their techs and Drs. Their rules for scheduling tasks and people we far too complex and they were looking for a custom solution that would increase efficiency and reduce the staff time spent managing schedules.
Outcome: The resulting application is an iCal-like app with most of the usual calendaring features but many that take care of the "ad-hoc" nature of scheduling multiple people, with multiple roles, into multiples tasks, across matching timeframes recurring timeframes, and equipment. The application can integrate with MS Outlook to provide availability features and time off conflict management.
